Stacked boulders pushing out into the sea — the best sunset in town

Why go to Hòn Chồng — Hòn Vợ (Husband and Wife Rocks)

  1. A natural rock headland you rarely find inside a beach city

  2. The best sunrise and sunset spot near the centre

  3. Close to Po Nagar — the two make one northern morning

Wear shoes with grip if you want to climb down to the water line. In rough season (Oct–Dec) the swell is heavy — stay back from the edge.

About Hòn Chồng — Hòn Vợ (Husband and Wife Rocks)

Hòn Chồng is a jumble of enormous granite boulders piled on one another and running straight out into the sea, tied to a legend about a giant whose handprint is pressed into the rock face. From here you get the whole sweep of Nha Trang bay, Cô Tiên mountain and the fishing village beyond.

This is the spot Nha Trang photographers pick most often for sunrise and sunset: surf breaking on the rocks, fishing boats moored out in the bay, and light spilling across the water. Inside the grounds there is also a small hall with traditional instruments and old photographs of the city.

A plate of gỏi cá mai
The dish to try · Since 1977

Come to Nha Trang without eating gỏi cá mai and the trip is not complete

One family, one recipe, nearly 50 years. Fish landed that morning, rolled in rice paper and dipped in a secret fish sauce — the same taste since 1977.
