Hòn Mun is the core zone of Vietnam's first marine protected area, and it holds the richest coral in Nha Trang bay — hundreds of coral species and reef fish in every colour. The water is clear to the bottom: a snorkel on the surface is enough to see the whole show, and certified divers can go deeper with a guide.
Hòn Mun trips usually run in the morning, when the sea is calm and the light cuts cleanest through the water, with a second island stop and lunch on the boat. This is the classic Nha Trang island tour — most first-time visitors should do it once.
