Bãi Dài Beach (Cam Ranh)

A long, wild sweep of coast to the south — good waves, thatched seafood huts and surf lessons

Why go to Bãi Dài Beach (Cam Ranh)

  1. The longest and emptiest wild beach near Nha Trang

  2. Fresh seafood in thatched huts, eaten on the sand

  3. The best place in the region to learn to surf

The waves and the rip are stronger than on the city beach — swim near other people and the marker flags; hire a hut in the morning to get a good spot, and agree the price per kilo before ordering seafood.

About Bãi Dài Beach (Cam Ranh)

Follow Nguyễn Tất Thành boulevard towards the airport and Bãi Dài unrolls like a ribbon of yellow sand almost ten kilometres long, still holding on to a wildness that is rare among the resorts going up around it. The public stretch is free, and the thatched huts grill fresh seafood on the spot at reasonable prices.

The waves at Bãi Dài are even and manageable, which has made it the surfing capital of the region — several schools run beginner classes all year. Being right by the airport also makes it the perfect final stop: a swim, a seafood meal under a thatched roof, then straight to the flight home.

Come to Nha Trang without eating gỏi cá mai and the trip is not complete

One family, one recipe, nearly 50 years. Fish landed that morning, rolled in rice paper and dipped in a secret fish sauce — the same taste since 1977.
