Fine white sand and water still shallow a hundred metres out — a paradise for families with small children
Shallow water a hundred metres out — the safest beach for children
Some of the finest white sand in Khánh Hoà
Emptier and cheaper than the city beach
On a weekday it is as quiet as a private beach; the midday sun is fierce, so hire an umbrella or a thatched hut, and eat at the Ninh Thủy fishing village rather than inside the resort.
Dốc Lết is the gentlest beach in the region: sand as fine as powder, water clear and shallow — you can wade a hundred metres out and it is still not over an adult's chest. That rare shallowness is what makes it the first choice for families with small children and for anyone who cannot swim.
The main stretch has loungers and umbrellas, seafood restaurants and water rides; a few kilometres further on lies the fishing village of Ninh Thủy with its morning fish market and coconut palms leaning out over the water. Put Dốc Lết together with Monkey Island or Ba Hồ stream on the same northern road and you have a full day out of town.
Come to Nha Trang without eating gỏi cá mai and the trip is not complete
One family, one recipe, nearly 50 years. Fish landed that morning, rolled in rice paper and dipped in a secret fish sauce — the same taste since 1977.
