Why go to Trí Nguyên Aquarium (Hòn Miễu)

  1. Fairy-tale ship architecture — a long-standing emblem of the bay

  2. The closest island to shore — twenty minutes and you are there

  3. Suits families, older visitors, and days with a slight swell

Take an early boat, while the aquarium is quiet and the fish are lively; check the time of the last boat back before you go over.

About Trí Nguyên Aquarium (Hòn Miễu)

On Hòn Miễu, the island nearest the shore in Nha Trang bay, stands one of the strangest buildings on this coast: an aquarium built in the shape of an ancient ship run aground and turned to stone, with tanks inside holding hundreds of marine species, from sharks and sea turtles to living coral. The weathered ghost-ship architecture makes a backdrop you will not mistake for anywhere else.

The crossing takes only twenty minutes, and you can pair it with Bãi Tranh on the same island for an unhurried half-day: the aquarium in the morning, a swim off the rocky beach at midday. Compared with the far-island tours, Trí Nguyên is the gentle option — for families with older relatives, or for a day when the sea is too rough for Hòn Mun.

Come to Nha Trang without eating gỏi cá mai and the trip is not complete

One family, one recipe, nearly 50 years. Fish landed that morning, rolled in rice paper and dipped in a secret fish sauce — the same taste since 1977.
