Catch the 11am boat from Phú Quý port — it is the only sailing of the day — or book a community tour with a speedboat; to get the whole of it, stay a night in a homestay.
Tucked behind Hòn Tre — the same island as VinWonders, but another world entirely — Bích Đầm is a fishing village of more than 200 households, recognised as a community tourism site at the start of 2025. No resorts, no roaring speedboats: just houses along the rocks, a village communal house a century old, an old lighthouse, and the fish rafts the village still lives on.
You get there on the villagers' own supply boat from Phú Quý port — a single sailing at around 11am, ninety minutes among locals and their cargo. Eat a fish meal on a raft, sleep in a homestay with the surf outside, and go out with a boat in the morning to watch the nets come up. This is the restorative kind of travel, not the slogan version.
Come to Nha Trang without eating gỏi cá mai and the trip is not complete
One family, one recipe, nearly 50 years. Fish landed that morning, rolled in rice paper and dipped in a secret fish sauce — the same taste since 1977.
