Why go to Đầm Market

  1. Dried goods, fish sauce and bird's nest at local prices

  2. The round market hall — an emblem of old Nha Trang

  3. The street food around the market is worth the trip on its own

Bargain gently at the souvenir stalls; for dried goods, check prices at two or three stalls before buying in quantity.

About Đầm Market

Đầm Market, with its distinctive three-storey round hall, is the largest and oldest market in Nha Trang, built in the 1970s on filled-in marshland. It is the most reliable place to buy things to take home — dried squid, dried fish, first-press fish sauce, bird's nest, fermented pork rolls — and the place to feel the real trading rhythm of the town.

The ground floor is dried seafood and food; the upper floors sell fabric, clothes and souvenirs. The food stalls around the market cover bánh căn, squid bánh xèo and sweet chè — mornings are the liveliest.

Come to Nha Trang without eating gỏi cá mai and the trip is not complete

One family, one recipe, nearly 50 years. Fish landed that morning, rolled in rice paper and dipped in a secret fish sauce — the same taste since 1977.
